five residential units exist on the nearly 7,000 square meters Resort property. Of these residential units will be four to rent, lease or purchase, of which three already present in the long term (1-year lease) are rented. The fifth unit (two homes) are inhabited and are not currently for rent, lease, or available for purchase. The bungalows in concrete and brick construction are built in a modern, simple "Lanna" style. retained for the two-storey pavilions resting on pillars in wood elements of the traditional Lanna-style were. The name of the bungalow refers to the Plumeria (Apocynaceae), an ornamental tree with fragrant flowers that were planted from which different varieties. Plumeria is also under the name Frangipani and pagoda tree known in Thai as ลั่นทม (Lanthom).

The name refers to the pavilion by the Thai name garrettiana Cassia (Leguminosae), a native wild wood, which grows near the pavilion. The Thai name of this tree is ต้น ขี้เหล็ก (sound Khilek).


LOCATION: located at an elevated level, next to the Atlantic Ocean, overlooking the entire north pond, and with views to the east.
SURFACE: Internal area 88 square meters, external area (covered but not screened) 44 square meters, plus usable garden area about 100 square meters.

GARDEN: the private usable garden lies between the bungalow and pavilion. The garden is terraced down to the large pond and has both shady and sunny areas to relax. Predominant native vegetation Phoenix palms, high Khilek native trees, fragrant Plumeri, and, among the selected herbaceous plants, ferns and irises. The name of the pavilion (สา ลา ชม ดอย Chom Doi Pavilion, Mountain View Pavilion) was chosen because out of him particularly well the mountain range to the east and Doi Suthep and Doi Pui can be seen in the West.

The name for the pavilion (สา ลา ไต้ แสงจันทร์ Tai Saeng Chan pavilion, moon pavilion) was chosen because of consider him particularly well in the pond reflecting the moon.

Searching for oil at Pensacola, Florida




Today we reached Pensacola, Florida. The sky was gray in the morning. The day started with soft rain before the sun scorched my head.
We saw beautiful endless white and long beaches. We visited Gulf Islands next to Pensacola.
Where Ever I had been in the Gulf area there existed oil, tar or slippery slicks at the coast. The employees from BP and all other workers have and had a real hard job to fight back against the spill. Every night the Sandsharks and other cleaning mashines drive at beaches round the Gulf area.


I made a new crude oil painting in Florida at the Wildlife Refuge next to Pensacola. Mixed media - oil, water, sand and the concept.

Slippery Slick and new Oil Painting
























Yesterday I visited Dauphin Island and Gulf Shores, Alabama. First I found small tar pellets on the beautyful Island and some balls of bitumen. At East End I was stopped by security. It wasn´t allowed to cross the border to the area which had been heavily polluted by a storm the day before. They built sand berms against the oil spill there.
I collected enough oil closed to the forbidden area. The tar sticks on plastic bottles and oil clumps are mixed up with mussels and small stones. Some Streets at Dauphin Islands were cut short by hurrican Katrina . They lost more than 300 houses. I found the beach empty and lonley. But in fact you can swimm if you want.

Than I took a ferry boat to Gulf Shores. The very nice owner from the Lighthouse Bakery gave us the tip to search for oil at Orange Beach. A sizable spill reached the beach there in the morning hours.

Anyway Burkhard my fotografer and me - we swam in gulf and the waves had been great!
We stopped at Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge near Gulf Shores.
Here I found a good setting for oil paintings. I collected slippery slick and oil pellets. Some stuff was older - some fresh. Good for my canvas - bad for sea turtles.
